response to 'who is changing?'
peace yall. i started writing my response to yall comments as a comment, but then i started to get a tad bit verbose.. so i decided to just hit yall with a post.. (lol- that joint rhymed!)
change. change is so key and critical with any mind/person/being who claims to be progressive and powerful. however- i see so much change around me. im not at a standstill or anything, nor do feel like im getting left behind or out of it.. but yo- im a basic ass nigga.. i like basic things, i eat basic foods.. i live my life in a basic and humble way. and honestly, i enjoy that same quality in others.
when i posted that question about who is changing- them or you, its because folks be on some other shit sometimes.. ive been blessed to be graced with some small time successes in this game.. but at the end of the day, its still the same ol me.. at times i feel so unamerican- because it seems like to be american, you must be wrapped up in the the hype, in the over-commercialization of the soul, in the degradation of eachother and of ourselves- all things that this game wants for us... not allowing for individuals to create paths and to be the master of their own game.. and im tired of playing.. so i pray, and stay still- in my own world, in my own game... floating- with me, my camera, and my pen..

Change is crucial but often times confused with conform and to be american in my opinion or a "good opinion" you have to conform to which I have no desire. I still want to be able to say that the Liberation of Iraq is BULLSHIT and if that makes me less American than ok call me a Candian. Good Blog
Sounds like you are coming into your own, establishing who you are (realizing your relation in this world and how to navigate) and asserting that self definition with confidence and clarity.

ok. im trying to catch you, brother.. but u may have lost me. let me try- true, change is often confused with conformity. however, to be honest, im not really speaking on conforming... i'll save that for another post.. im speaking on change!! i am not opposed to change.. i just prefer growth.. ya dig?

its a self realization of a coming of age... i hope to always be in one in some way or another...
just because americanisms or classisms or whatever dictates that we should want certain things, buy into the commercializations and degrade each other-doesn't mean we have to. so it is as you say, people just have to grow to the point of being tired and not wanting to play the game anymore. your willingness or decision to change elevates you beyond that madness and with these choices comes personal responsibility. no one or thing has to allow for this, we as individuals have to put it into action ourselves, or not and be amongst the masses that are "americanized". guess that's why i'm always alone. i'm tired too.

most of the time i think its me that is changing.
but its really weird when you are changing and others who may have been close to you change too, then you guys grow apart. that is hurtful.

i know that i am changing. and i also suspect that others around me are changing. i believe we all change at a different pace and in different directions, but to keep living is to change, minute-by-minute. some change is for better, some for worse. and ya' don't stop... (until you check outta here).
